I fill out birthday message and chose a gift but unable to send it to anybody....different format for gifts...I have 8 gifts left in my account
As of September 13, gifts are now Plus and Pro only features. We're working on improving the gift page right now so any user can still send birthday and anniversary messages to their relatives.
The ability to send in a ticket is now also a paid feature. Basic users may take advantage of our self help tools, such as FAQ's, Video Tutorials and Community Help forums.
I will now be closing this thread as the discussion is no longer related to the original bug report.
Today since the Geni Plus is being offered the site automatically takes you to the sign-up screen for $4.95. You are not allow send any birthday greetings, nor do anything else like put in a ticket. I was asked to join this site by a cousin and this a fun thing but I am not interest enough to pay a price monthly. If free gifts are not available, so be it but I'd like to be able to send birthday greetings still. If you are make it so I have to buy this service I guess I'll go back to snail mail for my immediate family and drop this Geni stuff.
I received a message that said the ability to send birthday gifts was taken care of....I am STILL not able to do so. I also have money left in my account and do NOT appreciate being shut out of the program. ESPECIALLY without prior notice. This is simply BAD business. We deserve better and you ARE better than this. I'm very unhappy with the geni changes thinking that we will automatically switch to the geni-pro.
Geni isn't as much fun as it used to be. Now you've taken away the free gifts. What next - pay monthly to look at profiles and/or the tree?
This bug report was related to an issue with Internet Explorer 7, which is now fixed.

I am trying to send a birthday card/gift and the page to do so is not loading and kicks me off the internet. I am able to get to the Geni website and view my family tree but am unable to go any further. Please help!!!
Your new ad for your premium service continues to pop up, preenting me from sending a birthday greeting....just stuck in a never ending loop.

It's been quite sometime since I 've been able to send a greeting or gift what is the problem? My family thinks that I'm not in touch but I can't respond to their messages.

Cannot send gift (ticket #6625). Having the problem since May. Help desk said they cannot duplicate the problem.
I have been having the same problem for some time now ie I type my message, choose a free "gift" and it does not send. Very frustrating!!

I've been having this same problem since purchasing virtual gifts, I needs to be fixed!!!
Yeah! Today is my sister-in-law's birthday and a cousin was able to send her a greeting earlier! I need this fixed.
