Qualify circa date- ±1 year/ ±2 year etc.

It would be useful to qualify the circa box on dates by having a choice of date range - ±1 year/ ±2 years ±5 years ± 10 years

Pam Wilson has requested a similar feature, which should meet your needs:
"Please expand the options entry/display options for dates on profile data entry to include Before XXXX, After XXXX, and Between XXXX-YYYY."
She also has 14 supporters for her request.
The problem of no dates added should also be addressed - maybe we should follow the example of such sites as Genes Reunited where you cannot save a profile unless it has a date of birth entered - even an approximate one. This MIGHT reduce the number of inappropriate matches in searches and tree matches, but could also be used as a gauge when decisions are made about a file being made public or private/ living or not living.
