Hi, I tried setting up a free geni account but it is forcing me to do a trial for pro, how do I skip that and just do the regular geni?

Job Waterreus There is no need to start a trial for Pro, but as a basic user you can use to Geni search only to find profiles you and your collaborators manage (so please collaborate with other users who are active in the same part of the tree).
You will have to use an external search (like Google) to search for other public profiles (if you use Google add site:geni.com to limit your search to Geni)
There is some documentation available on Geni like Geni Start Here Basics, A-to-Z-of-Help-Topics , Geni Help Portal, Family tree and Frequently Asked Questions

Geni Support Team Hi, you do not need to start a free trial of Pro to use Geni. On that Pro upgrade page, scroll to the bottom and click "Cancel" to continue to your tree with a free account. Or you can click on the logo to go straight to your homepage.
If you keep getting the offer to upgrade, then it is possible you are trying to access a paid feature, such as search.
If you are not ready to upgrade, Job has some great tips in his response above for basic users.
