as opposed to removing the event from the document...
In this case, they are not one and the same. I have the same doc attached to multiple events, and the one that shows up when editing the document is not the one I need to remove it from.
In the event view, when editing, I can add docs, but not remove them.
Any help is appreciated!

I need to remove two documents, rename them and reload them to appropriate catagory (birth, military, death, etc) and events
Locate the document under your documents , click on it and use the 'Actions' button delete the document.
there's no 'delete' button when you click on 'actions'...just edit, view larger, etc
You can go to the document directly, edit it, and change the event.
I appreciate all the answers, but none actually answer the problem I described.
One answer was to go the the document directly and edit the event. But, as I said, the event shown when viewing the document directly isn't the event I need to remove. It is another event, to which I want to keep the document attached.
Another answer was to go to the document under "my documents" and delete it. Well, this will accomplish what I want, but also it will delete the document, which I don't want! That document, as I noted, is attached to other events (correctly).
It's actually been a while since I asked this question, but I think the latter is what I ended up doing, along with re-uploading the document and reattaching it to the events it needed to be attached to. Frankly, it wasn't my most favorite way of handling this, but I think Geni isn't written to do what I wanted to do.
I want to remove a document or photo from an event without deleting it from my album.
I am using it in several places and accidentally placed it in the wrong event.
If I delete it altogether I have to find everywhere else I used it and upload and reconnect them all.
Can I just remove a document or photo from an event, please?
