How do I globally disable 'Send Birthday reminders to family'?

I would like to set the 'Send birthday reminders to family' option to default to OFF rather than ON on profiles.  How do I do that?

  I know of no way to do this. There use to be an option for setting a default on the profiles you manage, bit I no longer see it. Each new member is responsible for controlling their own notifications. It may be possible to unchecked the option to send birthday reminders for a profile quickly through the programing API, but such a change would effect everyone. No one would receive notifications, if they wanted them or not. Perhaps this is why they removed it as a default option for profiles you manage.

  Yes, please let us turn them off! We already get enough notifications as is.

  Todd, you can turn off your own notifications.  http://www.geni.com/account_settings/notifications

  Each user is in control of their own settings.  There is also a link at the bottom of every e-mail that allows them to turn off the notification.

  Thanks Jeff, but I don't want to turn off my notifications. Like the person who first posted this request, I would like the default setting of 'Send Birthday reminders to family' to be unchecked...as I'm trying to reduce the number of notifications my family members get. With over a thousand members in my family tree I don't want thousands of notifications being sent out. Every time I add a new family member I have to uncheck this box...so it's a minor nuisance.
