I have an Aunt on my Granddad's side that is married to my grandmother's brother. Is there a way to join the nodes so I don't have to duplicate nodes on each side of the tree?

  Yes, go into Tree view and select "More" and then "Move" on the profile you want to connect to the other part of the tree.  This will bring up a little hover window with the profile in it.  Navigate over to the part of the tree that has the duplicate or connecting information.  Drag the profile on top of the duplicate profile or direct relative and answer the question (what is the relationship).  This will connect the two parts of the tree and put a corresponding (2x) to indicate the placement in both parts of the tree.
