How do I remove an ex-wife's "surname" from appearing in my child's profile

I have entered my child into Geni, correctly identifying her parents as me and my wife. My ex-wife is on the tree, and her last (maiden) name appears in my child's list of "surnames" on her details page.

As my ex-wife has no relationship (blood or otherwise) to my child with another woman, I do not wish for this erroneous information to appear, however, I cannot find any way to remove it. The "relationship" between my ex-wife and my child was also displayed (ex-husband's daughter, father's ex-wife) and I was able to remove that from my child's profile. Help!

My wife will not find my ex-wife's "connection" to our new baby amusing.

  Could you explain what you mean by list of surnames on her details page?  I can't figure out what area you're describing that might list multiple surnames.  Do you mean in the top right where it says "Learn more about the xxxx surname"?

  If you click on a person in your tree, it opens their profile page. On that profile page, the "Overview" tab, it has the following headers:

  About

  Immediate Family

  Guestbook

  Statistics

  Contact

  Surnames

  Followers

   

  In "Surnames" for my daughter's profile, it lists my surname, my wife's surname... and my EX-wife's surname.

  Is the surname tab only added to new profiles? It's not in my profile or my wife's.

  I see it on my daughters as well, but don't see it on mine.. just as you described.  I have no idea how to change that.  I'll ping one of the Geni staff.

  In order for your ex wife not to come up as a surname you would have to add your child's biological mother to your family tree. This will prevent any further confusions.

  It was clearly a bug, it seems to have rectified itself with no interaction from me. My child's biological mother was in the tree, listed as my wife (before my daughter was even born), and was connected to my daughter's profile as her mother - no connection was ever made to the ex-wife. I'm just glad it was fixed!
