Every time I search a relative, it shows how I am related to this person from my mothers side of my family when I know I am related to the person on my fathers side. For example, my 3rd Gr Grandfather on my dads side, when I went to search for him, it showed him as a distant cousin on my moms side of the family. I know I am closely related to ppl on my dads side. How do I change the view? I am related to royalty on my moms side in a couple of different branches. yet when I search for these ppl it shows only one path and they are a very distant relative. How can I get it to show me different paths? Thank You

Jeff, Geni Curator Paths are often cached - so sometimes they need refreshing. I looked at your 3rd GGF on your father's side and it's showing the correct path. I'm not sure if the search would show different - if so, that is odd. Perhaps another caching issue. Let me know if there is a specific path I can look at and refresh.

Tove Palmork Haavelmoen I experience the same. Whoever I look up, the relationship is always shown through my mother's side. Example: I was looking up my fathers uncle. The relationship desplayed, was still through my mother and 19 relatives came up. This is not good.
Now how is that explained? Whenever, always through my mother!

R D Parsons I am experiencing the same thing with https://www.geni.com/people/Rev-John-Bulkeley/6000000000688966600?from_flash=1&fsession_id=1522336951607&through=6000000000688966600.
Although he and his brother https://www.geni.com/people/Edward-Bulkeley/6000000000688953799?from_flash=1&fsession_id=1522335677507&through=6000000000688953799 are BOTH my 7th ggrandfathers, my relationship to Rev. John is shown as a great-uncle! This happens even though Geni shows Rev. John's son Gershom https://www.geni.com/people/Gershom-Bulkeley/6000000001657844507 as my 6th ggrandfather!
Can you fix this?

Rosalind Joy Romem I am receiving long chained connections to my mothers family whereas I want to see the shorter version through my father whenever I check father's family.
how do I change it -
Wendy L. Hooper Whenever I enter a search the resulting path/connection is through my paternal grandfather's side (Brownfield) and never through his wife's (my grandmother) line (Marietta). How did this happen/what did I do/how to prevent this? Thank you for your attention in this matter.
