Andrea Mosconi I'm really happy to learn this feature is "Planned". Can we know a little more about the ETA, or the capabilities of the client? (will it be a web App, or a full iOS application?) -

Александр Евгеньевич Гладких Glad to hear good news!
More about the client (like I see it):
1. Full iOS universal application for iPhone®, iPod® Touch and iPad®.
2. Creat, edit, backup/restore (GEDCOM files) features.
3. Load/Save photos in the tree feature.
4. Multilanguage (with full support region date's format). I've an experience of localized few iOS apps in Russian and can help you do it.
5. Full synchronization data with user's web account.
6. Clean, Nice and Easy UI. ;)

Carl Philip Bouvin Sigfridsson Ancestry have a very nice looking app, with looks reminding one of a proper old-fashion tree. That's quite nice if you want to show friends and family your tree in a nice layout. Might give you inspiration if you have a look. The Geni-system is however much more thought-through so get that app launched soon!

Jeff, Geni Curator Today Mobiwolf released GeniDroid - Geni on Android https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mobiwolf.genidroid

Andrea Mosconi Jeff, thanks for the info, but last time I checked, Droid apps could not run on iOS devices. It would be probably more useful if you posted the info on a separate entry for people that are actually looking for a Droid application, rather than a iOS one ;) -
Jeff, Geni Curator True true, but I figured it was worth mentioning. The iphone app is in development and was shown at rootstech. Shouldn't be too long now. :-)

Александр Евгеньевич Гладких Jeff, thanks for the good news!!! Waiting iOS support... -
Александр Евгеньевич Гладких Any news??? -
Christopher Gillett There has not been anything posted here since April. Has there been any news on iOS support?
-
Jeff, Geni Curator Yes - they'll start testing it soon with a beta group. Haven't seen if there is a non-disclosure for testers, so not sure if we can talk about it.

Александр Евгеньевич Гладких Good news. I'm beta tester in many apps for iPhone and iPad. Can I'll be beta tester for the Geni app? -
adam bell There hasn't been any news since Jun-02 2011, Hows the app coming along?
-
Jeff, Geni Curator I have the beta on my iPhone, but I'm not sure when they're going to officially release it.
-
Bjørn P. Brox I am a beta-tester myself, and I would not call it ready for release yet.

You should however remember that it is NOT an app that will replace the web-interface using your browser, - i.e. not tree view and such which require an dynamic interface. They are working on replacing Flash with HTML 5 which will enable full Geni web functionality for also for iPad.

Dane Niehus Is there any new news on the Planned IPhone APP? Or how can we get a hold of the Beta to try for ourselves???
-
Jeff, Geni Curator A third party app came out for the iPhone, which does a pretty good job - they even have a tree view.

The Geni iPhone app keeps crashing on me, so I'm not even sure what it looks like right now.

Maggie Hettinger I'm happy about this. Even without "full" functionality, the ability to quickly find the answers to questions such as "what is her youngest child's name?" or "is so-and-so still living?" would be great to have in my pocket. -
Tommy Byskov Lund Tried the different third-party suggestions including Telgens, but still hoping to something more convincing for mobile platforms..iOS and/or Android -
Egil Olsen Skálltje -
Jack Douglas Slater How do we find out if its being worked on still? And planned release date?

黄偉豪 Christopher Ly geni on safari crashes constantly with HTML 5

Jeff, Geni Curator A. Fauwaz Mohamed, the parent company of Geni, which is MyHeritage has an iPhone app, but like Ancestry, those are for isolated trees, not a collaborative world tree.
