Geni Support Team Hi Alexander, you will not be able to re-import a GEDCOM file that has been exported from Geni. Can you please try clearing your browser cookies and cache? You can clear your Geni cookies by clicking on this link https://www.geni.com/login/clear_cookies

Alexander Rosche Hello,
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I was not successful with your advice.
The reimport file was merely an attempt to see whether anything could be imported at all. I did not realize that this does not work in principle.
As far as my relevant import attempt is concerned. This fails even in a completely new Chromium instance. The following screenshot shows it.
I'm a bit perplexed and was hoping that you might be able to recognize something in the server logs.
I also have a question about the maximum limit of 100000 individual data records. Does this upper limit include all persons, families, events, notes, etc., or does this figure only refer to 100,000 persons? Perhaps this is where my problem lies.
Best regards,

Alexander Rosche I can now also rule out the 100,000 theme. I have created an empty family tree under Gramps that contains three people and no notes, events or sources.
The error message is the same.
The gedcom-file:

Geni Support Team Hi Alexander, can you email your GEDCOM file to support@geni.com ?

Geni Support Team Hi Alexander, were you able to email the GEDCOM file? Please let us know when you do so that we can investigate further.

Alexander Rosche
Hello,I had to return from a trip first. Until then, I would have had to copy and paste the file content from the history here, which could have led to subsequent problems if umlauts were used.
Now that I am back home, I have sent you the original file by e-mail.
With kind regards

Alexander Rosche Hello,
the current interim status is as follows. I have contacted an administrator and sent him my test file. He was able to import it successfully.
I tried again on several of my own computers and was unsuccessful. Not even when the browsers used were fresh.
I then reset the account and created a new one. Hope dies last. Unfortunately, this attempt was also unsuccessful.
Yours sincerely
Alexander Rosche

Job Waterreus May be try with another browser or try incognito mode (could an add-in be the problem?)

Alexander Rosche Hi,
i have tested the following browsers:
firefox
firefox in private mode
chromium
vivaldi
operaI also tried it outside my protected home network.
The upload worked everywhere else. Only not here.
Also, the statement that the file is not in Gedcom format, is wrong.
