I added a profile for a fully transitioned transfeminine person to the world tree and assigned it "female", but I'm not too sure if it should be that way. I'm kinda split between whether the gender of the profile should always reflect that of the individual or her biological sex.
No offense to anyone identifying as transgender out there. I'll admit, I'm pretty naïve sometimes.
I'm following this, as I have a fully transitioned woman in my tree, and a mid-transition woman also in my tree. Interested to know the answer.
The problem is that geni currently lacks a “sex at birth” field, which is needed so DNA test results make sense. If this is not the case, I would go with with their (living person) preference and assign gender as they do. We had had massive DNA confusion in one case until the member was kind enough to explain herself. This shouldn’t necessary. We’ll get there.
