I found today that someone added an unrelated person as a brother to my still-living mother and aunt. I have no idea who the mystery man is. I don't seem to be able to remove him, I guess because I don't manage his profile. Is there a way I can fix this myself? I'm fairly new to Geni (I've been a member for a few years, but I'm not able to visit often enough to really learn it).

Christine A Krupski Unrelated names have also been added to a part of my tree and I cannot find out how to resolve this. It appears you have to purchase the pay version of Geni to obtain help for this problem. I do not understand how another person was able to merge these unrelated people to my time line in the first place.

Jeff, Geni Curator Christine, let me know which profile and I'll look at it.
David, is this still a problem for you? If so, I'll take a look

David Barak Oh yes, it's absolutely still a problem, but there's no need to do anything on my behalf - I haven't been using Geni since December and I don't really have any plans to try again.

Jeff, Geni Curator Sorry about that David, looks like the parents were merged and the other managers had Richard as a son. I've disconnected him. Since that branch is connected to others, I figured best to keep it accurate. Hope you come back some day. The world family tree model is the way to go. :)

Christine A Krupski In my tree, someone named Erin Spiceland has merged a line that does not belong. And, is now listed as a manager of my great-aunt's profile. My great-grandparents did have a lot of children (11 of them to be exact), however Erin Spiceland's merge adds an additional Mary R. Reid (Donohoe) under my great-grandparents tree - James Donohoe and Alice I. Donohoe (Phillips). I tried to remove this myself but was unable. None of the people who appeared in that new Mary R. Reid (Donohoe) are related.

M R Someone attempted to merge two unrelated Jan Janssons and it has messed up the whole tree, giving one person 2 sets of parents, and making her my great-great-grandparents daughter when they were 6 and 8 when she was born and lived on the other side of the country. At least WikiTree requires merges to be approved. This tree is a mess.
