A Family Member Claims Being the Profile Managers of my Profiles.

I was the first family member that posted my wife Minerva Bennett Bernardo's mother Kate Cresini Bennett's paternal grandfather Lawrence E. Bennett's descendants down to his son's children and their known spouses.  I was the Original Profile Manager of these names from about 2008.  Along comes one of Kate's daughter Solidad Bennett Bernardo-Gabriel's ex-son in-law Felix Mangoba and his 2nd wife Deborah Mangoba aka "No Name".  They arbitrarily removed my name as Profile Manager, and claim themselves to be the new Profile Managers of Lawrence E. Bennett, his son Charles Knowles Bennett, and other descendants. Of course I am absolutely peeved about this when I first noticed it!  Felix Mangoba is definitely not one of my Collaborators.  I don't mind if Felix Mangoba work on his own family tree.  Just don't mess with my names!!  Felix doesn't even show the name of his first wife Sharon Bernardo Gabriel in the View Tree.  I don't believe that Felix Mangoba knows anything more about Lawrence E. Bennett.  I want to have Felix and Deborah Mangoba aka "No Name" removed as Profile Managers.  I am an active genealogist of this family.

  Harold, I restored the names to the two "No Name" profiles which were Sharon Mangoba (Gabriel) and Nathaniel Mangoba.  Sharon, your wife's nice, is Lawrence's 2nd GGD and the other, her husband.  So both of them are within the family group of Lawrence, as is I believe Deborah and Felix, which are Nathaniel's parents.  So I don't know that you can remove them as managers.  The rule is that the profile must be within your family group, but outside theirs.  Once a manager of the profile, you could try and remove Deborah and Felix, but I expect it's within their family group as 1st degree in-laws.

  I don't see that you were removed as a manager, which should show in the revision history, nor do I see that any profiles were deleted or changed in the surrounding family.  So at this point, I don't see evidence that they removed you and added themselves.  It looks to me like they had a duplicate tree which was merged and they were just added as managers to the primary profile. In any case, Lawrence should fall within your family group, so you should be able to edit it, but if you wanted to have your name added as a manager, there are two ways to go about it.  1) Go to the Actions tab and Manager Options and click the Request Management, which sends a message to the other managers asking them to add you. (this is also the place where you could remove managers if they have a little [x] next to their name if you were a manager).  2) Create a duplicate of Lawrence, such a another father profile for Charles - then merge the two when the conflict triangle comes up.

  Harold, while reviewing the tree, I noticed that you had many of your profile's last names in uppercase.  I wanted to let you know that this is discouraged and unnecessary on Geni.  Please put last or maiden names in normal mixed case.  If you like to see the last names capitalized, we recommending changing your naming preferences to display it that way: https://www.geni.com/account_settings/name_preferences

  This allows all users to see the profiles as they desire and not have formatting forced on them.
