I've noticed that my great grandparents on my mother's side are no longer on my tree. I never got any notice of this happening, or if there was an issue with a merge.

Jeff, Geni Curator I did see some pending conflicts from a merge that I resolved. I'm not sure if those were the grandparents you were referring. I do see a disconnect on Linda Fisher for a mother Frances Melvina Fisher (Kitchens). That disconnect was done by your mother, Linda Loe.
Let me know if you need assistance of it you need to re-establish that connection.

John P. Kirkpatrick Why are others allowed to change my Family Tree?
Names of my parents, grandparents are changed to incorrect names, they added another profile of me as being my brother, etc.
No changes to what I submit should be allowed unless I approve of them. -
Geni Support Team Hi John, Geni is a collaborative, shared family tree of the entire world. We see that your parents' profiles were recently merged, which brought in a duplicate profile for yourself. Your parents' profiles are public and have multiple managers, which means others had permission to edit and merge them.
Since they are your close family members, you can make your parents' profiles private and remove the managers that are not closely related. See our FAQ on how you can become the manager and remove non-related managers: https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229704067-What-are-my-management-options-
You may also want to merge the duplicate profile for yourself. There are multiple ways to do this, but perhaps the easiest is to use the "Resolve Duplicates" tool. In your tree, click on your node to open the side panel. Select "More" and click "Resolve Duplicates." Drag and drop the duplicate profile of yourself and click "Merge Duplicates." This will take you to the merge comparison page where you can complete the merge. See of FAQ for more details: https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408886081687
