Irene Wirthinger How can I upload a Gedcom-file?
I have over 10000 persons and no time to write them all to GENI.
Thanks...Irene

Eric Randol Schoenberg, Geni Curator At the moment, there is no way to upload a gedcom file because it causes too much duplication. On Geni, we all work together like on a giant jigsaw puzzle. The goal is one profile per person on the World Family Tree. For gedcom files of more than a few hundred profiles, there is almost certain to be lots of duplication. But Geni is working on a tool to help you. In the meantime, Pro users can use the SmartCopy application to quickly move over data. I really doesn't take as much time as you think, and the curators and other users can help. See https://www.geni.com/projects/SmartCopy/18783

Jeff, Geni Curator Copying profiles via SmartCopy is now also available to basic Geni users. :)

Joseph Zweig what is the procedure to download a tree to a thumb drive?

Jeff, Geni Curator Here is the FAQ on exporting your GEDCOM. https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229705167-How-can-I-export-my-GEDCOM-
After you download it, just copy the file to your thumb drive.

Josh Regev (Roth) Could you elaborate at all on the tool that Geni is working on, and when it might be ready? I'm wondering if it might be worth waiting a bit to copy my tree from Ancestry, if it will be easier to import.
