I don't know why this happened but ever since I merged my tree with someone, my family tree has become very stretched out. It looked very nice before, but now it is very difficult to look at and use easily. For example, my great-grandfather and great-grandmother on my mother's side are very far apart from each other on the tree even though they are married. The line between them takes up almost the whole web-page. I don't see any reason why the tree should be widened like this. I have tried fiddling with the preferences and view settings. Does anyone else have this problem? How do I fix this?

Jeff, Geni Curator In tree view, go to the preferences tab at the bottom. Under "Generations to display", decease your Ancestors count. Alternatively, you can select the checkbox to show "Direct ancestors only" or click the icon for the 5 generation tree view.
The tree is widened to account for siblings and their families. There is a zoom and drag / scroll option to help in navigation.
