"You Are Connected to" path

Has anyone had the issue of each "you are connected to:" and the path always goes through one person?  I've done simple checks where I'm connected through dna to one person; but the checker takes me through one specific non blood relative to find a path of over 23 to get to someone who I'm connected to by perhaps 6 steps.  Thanks.  Andrew
