My last name at birth was not Pecuich nor was my sister's. Again interlopers! It will be much easier to delete this altogether and try another site where this interfering does not happen.

Karen, I did not enter those names nor did I define you parents. I brought it together so that you and I could fix any issues. Now you are in control of all versions of your profile as well as your sister's. Now you can edit them. I can't help that two other people created a tree of your family, that it was partly merged and I can't help that they got info wrong. What I can do is give you control over it all and help you fix any problems. Edit your profile and that of your sister - remove the birth surname. If you need help, I can remove Pecuich as your father or make him adoptive. I'm appointed by Geni to help users with their tree and have no interest outside that with your family.
Also, creating a new tree would not help as it would get merged too. Here is more information on the shared collaborative tree of Geni: https://www.geni.com/worldfamilytree/learn-more
Jeff-
Try reading my comment again. Creating a new tree in another website would eliminate the problems with Geni.
Ah, my mistake - that is your prerogative. You asked for help and I'm trying help. Instead of a stranger managing a copy of you and your family where you had no control and could not fix your incorrect name, you now have full control. You can even delete that other person as a manager. Someone creating a tree of your family can also happen on another site and over there they won't give you control over it. I'm not sure why you're upset with me.
I am not upset with you. Just annoyed that I bother to send a comment and you do not bother to read it-you assume.
I think it was more a misunderstanding rather than an assumption. I read it but I just interpreted it to mean another tree free from other managers. Your clarification was more direct.
Hello, Karen,
I left MyHeritage and came to Geni, because I found many different versions of information about my ancestors there and also at Ancestry.
For example, my g-g-grandfather, Thomas Maxwell Henderson is listed in many trees as the son of James Sanderson Henderson, but I was able to get birth records from ScotlandsPeople and prove that he was the grandson of James Sanderson. There is a David in the line between them. Have a look at the documents in the sources tab at his profile:
https://www.geni.com/people/Thomas-Henderson/6000000028061670773#/tab/source
I have been able to correct this in Geni, but the mistake is still there and being copied at the other sites.
Here at Geni we are building a single family tree for the whole world, and ideally, each person exists only once in it. We care about getting the facts right, and we help each other to do that.
Jeff is right, you can take your data to another site, but you will miss out on a major benefit of working at Geni -- being able to merge branches of the Whole-World Tree. This happened for me when I added my g-grandmother, Adelaide Sturt Henderson (Morphett), and I found she was already in Geni, in a branch of Morphetts. I looked at her relatives there and they matched what I knew about the Morphetts, so I asked the person who was managing her profile if we could merge my version of her with his. He looked at my work and merged the two copies. We Hendersons gained all that information about the Morphetts and they gained lots of information about us Hendersons. And I can scroll seamlessly from the Henderson branch across the Morphett branch.
Those are the reasons that I left an "individual-family" site and joined Geni to work with others on building the Whole World Tree.
Hi Jeff,
I need help please! I've already mishandle my situation and do not want to cause more of an issue.
Could you please send me a direct email address to send you my issue?
I would greatly appreciate your help.
Thank you in advance.
