Hello, one of my dna matches shows an in law relationship but no blood relationship path. Is this due to not having him in my tree? I'm pretty sure he's my 2x greatgrandfather.

Geni will calculate the closest blood and in-law path to you/focus person, if either can be found in the tree. If we are unable to find a blood path, then it is possible that those profiles have yet to be added or connected to the tree. If you know there is a closer blood path, then you may want to double check the tree to make sure those profiles have been added.
Also, keep in mind that pending merges and recent merges can also prevent the closest relationship from calculating so a review of your tree may be a good idea.
