So, I started with Geni as part of a school project well over a decade ago. Don't even remember the year, but I remember Geni was in beta back then, so 2008 or earlier.
It was fun for the first couple of years. I invited some family members, the tree grew and grew.. Then I got bored with it.
However, Geni has not exactly let me leave.
As I founded the tree, it seems I am the fallback administrator for all the profiles created by users that were indirectly invited (invited by invitee etc) by me.
That turns out to be a good amount of user, an insane amount of profiles and a huge tree.
While I do feel some pride in that, it is unfortunate to see how, when users go inactive, Geni dumps all their profiles on me. And then all requests from active users, most often from other trees that merged into mine, gets sent to me.
I can't be the only one with this problem. And I do try to help when the requests come. But I'm simply not into Geni anymore. And I haven't been for about a decade.
That leaves me to ask. What can I do to rid myself of this burden? I wouldn't want to destroy the tree, if that's an option, and I would want the profiles I am accidentally responsible for to be in good hands. But what can I do?
