I have 3 merge requests for duplicate profiles I do not manage. I have no idea who they are. It looks like the profiles should be merged, but I don't feel it is right for me to touch other people's stuff. One of these requests was made about 2 years ago and the other 2 are recent. I am a basic member who does not visit Geni very often and never got an email that merges were desired. I just found the merge requests by accident while exploring. It does not seem right to keep paid members waiting for merges requested to a seemingly random stranger.

Oton Zagorc Merge requests are sent to users in the family group.
In case of Kordian Kucharski you are his 4th cousin and one of only 6 people who can approve the merge. When merges involve private profiles, not even curators can complete them, it takes someone from the family group to do it.
Jadwiga Gdynia is your fourth cousin's wife, but you can't complete the merge because it is in a separate tree. I completed it.
Brunon Weber is your 4th cousin, but again in a different tree. I completed it.
Of course you are under no obligation to act on merge requests for people not familiar to you, but it is in your interest as this is an easy way to find more relatives.
But you do have 2 tree conflicts which should be resolved.
Julita Gilbert is a false match.

Mary Catherine Gilbert Thanks Oton Zagorc. I will go and look at the merges again. Are you a curator?
I see the 2 tree conflicts. 1 is for relatives I never heard of, so I will just ignore it. The other one concerns a new to me child of my 3rd great grandparents. I feel like that one is really mine to fix after I do some research find the correct date.
What does false match mean? I don't see any matches for Julita Gilbert. I added her when I was learning to use the website about 10 years ago, but I made a mistake and put her in as my daughter but she is really a distant cousin who's last name is not even Gilbert. I can't delete her and put her in the correct place. I was planning to ask her next time I write to her if she could put herself in the correct family.

Job Waterreus You can ask a curator to help you correct wrong connections in this discussion: https://www.geni.com/discussions/216411
