Why won't this merge?

Six persons have asked for merge, including me, but nothing happens. One of the profiles also seems to be missing administrator, but I can't figure out how to change it/take over.
It's my father-in-law, so it really should be a no-brainer... :-)
Not much change to ever get these merged, the other profile is claimed, so only the user himself can merge and he has not been active the last few years.
You could delete the duplicate you created and try to find a user in the family group of https://www.geni.com/people/Odd-Steinar-Nikolaisen/6000000009040226938 to see if he/she can help

I still can't get my head around this. On 07.07.2023 I got email from Geni stating:
"Knut Ivar,
You have been made manager of Odd Steinar Nikolaisen's profiles due to his inactivity on Geni."
Given the content of the mail, why am I not listed as manager on the profile site, and why am I still not able to change it?
Or do it only applie to people added to Geni by this profile, and not the profile itself? (what's the use of that??)

Hi Knut, you were made a manager of the profiles that were managed by Odd Steinar Nikolaisen because he was reported as an inactive user. Since Odd Steinar Nikolaisen is a claimed user, only he will be able to complete the merge for his profile.

When Geni have classified the user as inactive, how shall the user then be able to carry out the merge? It makes no sense...
The inactive user is 78 years old, and will probably never again become an active user. Is it Geni policy that such cases shall remain un-merged?
When a user is reported inactive Geni tries to assign an extra active manager from the family group of that inactive user to the private profiles of that inactive manager so that that user can merge those private profiles. That is why you became a manager.
Merging of private profiles needs the permission of both managers however, so if the other manager is also inactive and no extra manager can be found, the merge is not possible till an extra manager for the other profile can be found.
