Highlight lines to parents and children

In a large tree, sometimes the legs can get really long and hard to keep track of.

Can you design the tree so when we click (or maybe checkbox) a tile it automatically changes the color of the path to the parents and the children of the tile?

For example tracing back up the following tree, starting at the white tile circled in red.

Really wide trees with parallel branches are hard to scroll around without getting lost in one branch or another and knowing if you accidentally jumped over into a sibling's branch.

  Hi Jeffrey, have you tried changing the tree view to show Direct Ancestors only? In the tree, click on the gear icon and check the box "Direct Ancestors only." This will then only show the direct ancestors of a node.

  To change your view back to show everyone in the tree, simply click on the gear icon and uncheck the box.

  Thanks. That doesn't help though. I was looking at my great grandmother's, brother's lineage. So like second cousins twice removed or some such. I was dragging the tree sideways for what seemed like three or four screens worth and having to be extra careful not to loose the correct line as they branched off into other uncles or cousins.

  I figured a highlight, especially up to the parent of a selected tile, would help with tracing backup the tree when it gets spread out so far.

  And by selected tile, I mean you click once on the tile and it is selected. A separate action from making the tile the center of the tree.

  You can use the Navigate or Goto menu on the bottom of the tree view window.

  Alternative: go to profile view and from there to the family member and then from there to tree view again.

  It may help if you try to post in the right discussion, so others may see it and vote for it.

  This discussion is for Translators - Feature Requests while it would be more logical to post in Getting Help - Feature Requests because what you ask does not have to do anything with translation to other languages.
