how to attach a file

Hello,

A cousin of mine sent a file with all our family information on it.

How do I load it on here, please?

  It depends on what format the data is in, if GEDCOM you can upload that (other formats are not supported)

  It could be that a large part of your family is already on Geni, so just uploading the data would create many duplicates in that case. If you are a basic user that would mean you cannot easily find those duplicates. If that is the case you might be better off uploading your data to a SmartCopy supported site and use SmartCopy to copy over the missing information.

  If it is a file with additional data in another human readable format you may be able to add it as a document to the profiles it has information about. See How can I add a Document?
