I have been removed as a manger of direct family (tree created by myself). The "new" manager is unknown to me and the timeline indicates "Geni" removed me. No notification. Now unable to update details of recently deceased individuals. Please can you advise how and why this was done without consent? I find this totally unacceptable.

This is the detail I have found. My husband has confirmed that he did not remove me as manager, and the same issue occurs for my brother-in-law who recently passed.

Geni Support Team Your husband claimed his account with his email address. This automatically removes any managers from the profile because he now manages his own account. If he would like relatives to be able to edit his profile, then he can log into his account and update his privacy settings https://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy .
We're sorry to hear about the loss of your brother-in-law. You are unable to update his profile because he had claimed it with his email address. Please report his account as Deceased by clicking on the Actions button on his profile page, select "Deceased," leave a comment and submit. Once our customer service team reviews the report, they will be able to assist with unclaiming the account so that you may update it. You may see our FAQ for further details: https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229706547-How-do-I-report-a-profile-as-Deceased-
