Why am I getting Inconsistencies on tree I don't manage

I am getting inconsistancies on profiles that may be very distantly linked to my tree. I have contacted the profile manager/s without success. 

I do not know these profiles.

These inconsistancies are now stopping me from merging and so clearing up my own tree.

I wonder if I should just put a note in the other Profile to say what is wrong and amend date and suggest the original source should be added and corrections then made.

It is very annoying

  Hi, if you are unable to resolve the inconsistency or are not sure how to resolve it and you don't want to see it, click the "Ignore" link at the bottom-right corner of the inconsistency and then choose "Hide this only from my view"

  I am also being asked to merge or fix inconsistencies for people not in my family tree. Why?
  If they asking me that then who are they asking to “fix” my tree that know nothing about it?
