Shortest Blood relationship vs shortest in law relationships

For several of my relatives, I'm seeing both a direct blood relationship and a weird, discovered in-law relationship. For example, John Higgins is my fifth great grandfather. He is also my 6th great uncle's sister's husband's sister's husband's first cousin once removed's wife's father. Who cares? If there any war to remove this? It's not meaningful data.
