Does uploading a GEDCOM file include photos?

I have uploaded a GEDCOM file but the photos do not show up.  Do I use a different GEDCOM file type (Ancestor or Descendants or Blood)?

  Be careful not to import the same data again without first undoing the previous import (otherwise you will create duplicates for all your imported profiles)

  Hi Stewart, I don't see any recent GEDCOM imports for your account. Do you mean the GEDCOM exports you recently downloaded? Photos from your tree should appear as links in the GEDCOM file.

  I will look for the links in the file.  So they are just links and not the actual photos?  So if I upload the GEDCOM file to another software those links point to where? My computer?  Or does the GEDCOM file contain the photos and they should appear in the other software?  (if not then it's the other software that is the issue).

  You can use the links to download the photos (they point to Geni).

  If the other software supports it, that software may be able to get them directly from Geni.
