Can't Make New Discussions

Hello, I've been trying to figure out how to make a new discussion on the main geni thread, there is no make new discussion button for me. I also can't write comments in any discussions, does anyone know how I could fix this?

  I'm not sure about this, but it's possible there is a grace period to creating a discussion to prevent spambot accounts.  We've had problems in the past on that.

  I confirmed that there is a 24hr waiting period for a new account.
