Andres Koitmäe I have a similar case. After merging I have duplicate entries of my daughter and I can't merge nor delete one of them. What's the solution?

Devorah Greenfield No answers only more frustrated geni users. There are two of me right now. My poor kids have 2 mothers. I tried to merge, and now lost management of my own profile. GENI STAFF: we need your input on this plz

Liivi Murumets Try inviting manager(s) of the duplicate profile to your family group or request to collaborate with them if the profile is public. Then merge away.
Andrew Siegel, Geni search returns 50 profiles for your name, 10 of them users..
Devorah Greenfield, could you explain what you mean by "I tried to merge, and now lost management of my own profile"?
Andres Koitmäe, only 2? These links would help increase the number ;)

Devorah Greenfield Livi, Been so long since problems began I can't be accurate how mistakes originally started. When I "merged" with another manager - since it was her request, it seems the merge left her "manager" and I had been deemed unecessary.
Another merge gone bad... I saw my son had been duplicated and I tried to merge them... In doing so I lost "management" again. Did I place his icon over her icon of him or viceversa? I don't recall. But I wish there were clearer guidelines. As it is there are 2 of me... My kids all have 2 moms. I don't want to merge "me" if I will lose all "manager" of "me". Suffice to say it is frustrating to see my husband has 2 wives and my kids have 2 mothers.

Devorah Greenfield Kallis Liivi,
Täname püüab aidata. Üks asi, mida ma olen õppinud läbi minu vigu ei ole kunagi vastu ühineda soovi uuesti. Ma ei kavatse teha seda hullem kui ta juba on. Aga tänan teid, et nii helpfu.
Lugupidamisega,
Devorah(no I don't speak Estonian, but your last communication to me was in that language so I used a translator)

Liivi Murumets At least now I know that I need to change my Geni user language every time I send an international request.. For some reason I thought editing the text in the box would be sufficient.

Jonathan (Jack) Martin Vinson At least I know that this is a problem for more people. I have two mothers-in-law who are the same person. As her email is attached to one of the profiles, It seems she has to approve the merge, but I don't know how comfortable she is with the interface. (And I am not sure if her current email is attached to the profile.)

Liivi Murumets This is what usually works when merging around claimed profiles who haven't completed their own merge:
- merge parents - claimed profile and a profile managed by someone are siblings
- merge spouses and children
- resolve tree conflict of children - make sure children are connected to the user profile (may have to temporary rename one profile as the preview is gone http://help.geni.com/entries/20059721-preview-for-assign-parents)
- check if there is any media, info or events you want tagged to the claimed profile
- disconnect from spouse and parents (Pro) or delete profile managed by someone (with the manager's consent)
- have a nice tree!
