What must the size be of a photo that I download

I am cropping some of my photos to get a profile of only one person to be used as a profile photo. What must the size be of the cropped photo to use on Geni as a profile photo

  I don't think there is a particular size but I usually go for something close to a square as it fits well in the tree view.  I'm not even sure you need to crop it.  In some cases, I've seen Geni do the crop for you in the profile pic if you identify the person in the photo with the square.
