Why can't I send or even purchase a gift?

Every time I try and send a gift I get the promo ad for Geni Plus popping up....its hugely annoying! Please help!!

  One way around this is to upload a photo or picture - a birthday or anniversary card or a nice drawing - and tag the recipient. If the person doesn't already have a profile photo, the card will be used as one.
