I started the tree in 2008. Many people have added their own profiles and anniversary or birthday dates. Ever since then annoying notices have been going out to these people and many have requested that the notices stop. One person died and people are still getting notices for her birthday. A couple got divorced and people are getting notices to send them wedding anniversary greetings. People on the list just want all this to STOP. How do you stop this damned machine?

Jeff, Geni Curator Well, one thing to do is to keep the tree up to date. If someone passes away, mark them as deceased. If someone gets divorced, change the relationship. As for notifications, each person has control of their own notifications, which is managed in your account settings. http://www.geni.com/account_settings/notifications/
