I am not a Pro user. I see merger possibilities while searching, but since I am not Pro, there's no way to contact other profile manager. Is there any way to merge trees without paying a fee?
Thanks!

You can ask a pro member to merge it for you if the profiles are public.
Thanks...but that's a bit odd, no? I appreciate the offers I see (from curators and generous souls) to merge but that's a relatively unfair burden placed on them, no?
Ya, but overall the changes have reduced duplication and merge issues. So there was actually a greater burden on us prior to the changes due to the permissions needed to merge public profiles.
So, if I understand your link, there are a bunch of 'super helpers' out there who are cleaning up the tree.
If so...all I can say is 'wow'!
I've been cleaning up (mistakes by others) and tweaking my tree, but when new people join, they quickly create their own (duplicate) tree rather than realize that the work has already been done.
How frustrating! I see an individual who manages names that I am sure are related, but I cannot contact him without becoming a paying member! I do not know any Pros to do it for me. Do I have any options other than kicking my computer?
Your suggestion that I go to a known person that the other person manages, click on contact profile manager, and contact him....No way does that work! I went to Chava Zivkovich managed by Freedman (if I recall correctly). If my mouse hovers over the person's name...it shows several options (including contact profile manager), BUT it is grey'd out and not clickable. If I do click on her profile, it offers me a paid subscription. If I click on manager's name: it offers me a paid subscription. If I click on View Profile: it offers me a paid subscription. So, now what? This is just one more reason to have a love-hate relationship with Geni. I must say, it's mostly hate right now.
