I agree with you, I Have Spent a lot of time Introducing Members of my family, and now I Find this Without a previous notice. My grand grand father HAD HAD 10 children, I Could find information of Them and Their descendants and put all in my Geni tree.
Are you telling me That After All The Work of Creating a family tree since 2007, you are now going to limit it. What about all the photos. They Are Also Going To Be accessible.Where are Them?

Also want to know the answer to this. Am trying to export a gedcom now and even though it let me go through the motions I wonder if it will work without being something other than a basic member. I also want to be able to remove my data, but I suspect that's not possible. I've already removed all my photos.
I am trying to make an "informed decision" about whether to upgrade or whether to cancel my account but cannot get any response from ADMIN. I manage many members and I don't want my decision to have an adverse effect on the accounts that I manage.
All your data will still be available on Geni.com. You will still have the ability to view your family tree but if your family tree is already over the limit of 100 people you will not be able to add as a basic user.
You have the ability to choose the profile that you add to your family tree as well as any family member you invite.
You will still have edit permission on all unclaimed accounts you manage.
