Are you telling me that after all the work of creating a family tree since 2007 for my family's kids, you are now going to limit it.
What about the all the photos and family history stories. Are they also going to be still accessible?
Please tell me exactly what my status is, and what you will do with my family tree and uploads, so I can decide what to do, and possibly advise everyone else to take it elsewhere.
We’ve moved from a relationship-based limit to a simple number limit. Here is the tree limit breakdown for each membership type:
Basic (free) - add up to 100 profiles
Plus - add up to 1,000 profiles
Pro - add unlimited profiles
The tree limit is based blood relatives and their spouses. So a basic user can build a blood tree up to 100 profiles or add 100 profiles to the site, and the limit is reached when either count reaches 100.
If a you are invited to a tree and your blood relatives count has already reached the 100 profile limit, then you may upgrade to a Plus or Pro account to continue building your tree.
If you are a basic user and you have added more them 100 profile you will no longer be able to add. You information over 100 will not be deleted. You will still have access to view your tree.
I just went to update my tree of 125 people and I cant add more people!!!!!! wtf????? I luckily have much better trees at other locations but Geni are definately signing their own death warrant.. I certainly wont be upgrading here so people trying to add to my tree wont be upgrading either
All information will still be available on Geni.com. You will still have full access to view your family tree. If you tree has over 100 profiles you will not be able add any new information.
