Even Pro's can't delete mistakes and help tickets/curators don't answer..

To say I'm dissapointed in Geni is an understatement. It is ridiculous that mistakes cannot be fixed and that things like my situation ( i.e my tree ,due to a family member's error,is showing me married to myself!) cannot be corrected.

 All the info is exactly the same but Geni refuses to allow me to merge myself and insists I am my own wife!

Help tickets go unanswered and Curators do not respond to messages so my tree is not correct and apparently cannot be corrected.

What is the point of this site if it wont allow anyone to have a correct tree? There are nearly 200 users asking the same question & it seems Geni isn't interested in fixing it.

Seriously the program wont let me merge myself making me my own wife and the "step mother" of my children...

 

Needless to say I'm canceling my "Pro" subscription & moving to ancestry.com and getting my family members to make the move with me.

This site is a waste of time & money!!!!

  Oh yeah and this problem all started because a family member ,without my permission or consent,created fake email accounts to add me & my children (with incorect info)& now that I joined it merged our tree incorrectly.The family member now cannot access ther fake email account so Geni will not allow us to delete.

  Geni needs to fix this deletion issue and needs to step up their game with customer service as help tickets are ignored and curators don't respond to emails.

  I have the same problem except for no fake email addresses. Did you try opening accounts with those names, for example, if your relative entered you as Vanessa673373@gmail.com and that is not your email address, you can still open such an account with gmail, unless that user is taken. If it is taken by someone else, you can always try to explain to them the situation and ask them to forward you login info.

  How Does one "ECHO" Comments that are to be HELPFUL...But ignored.. Geni will continue to lose Customers, Accts., Family Info/Input until Someone Takes "CONTROL", Analyzes the Problem, Designs a Solution, Set it into Motion and Follows "UP" on many simple suggestions. Most can be corrected by a Feed Back Loop (varying I.D., then Correcting the (Name, Order of Birth, Order od Marriage, Duplications of-Marriage dates, Children's Name, Spouse's Name, Burial Info, If a Marriage is after the DEATH.!!.(NO GO..!!!)..some very Simple Block Diag., and Logic.....OTHER WISE....You, the "poor Operational System" and the LAZY (STAFF) will be in the Unemployment Line. (Waiting for the President to ,"GIVE YOU a HANDOUT.). Which shall it BE...????
