Dan Cornett Contact the owner of that profile and ask to be added to their family group so that they can be merged; then you will control it.
Contacting the profile manager is always the first thing to try to resolve any issues.

Geni Support Team Please note the person who added the profile may be your relative. Therefore, if you have located a profile on Geni which you believe may be for you (or a relative), you may go to www.geni.com to create an account. Once you have, you will be able to contact the profile manager who added that profile to their tree and ask them to invite you, update it, or remove it on your behalf.
- We respect the privacy of our users and they have the right to add their relatives to their family tree
- We do not go into the accounts of our users to police or remove data
- We do not have a way (for certain) to know when an outside person is who they say they are
- There may be another person who shares your name; therefore, the profile in question may not even be you
Here are ways to address this:
- You may create an account on Geni, contact the person and ask them to update the data
- You may create an account on Geni, contact the person and ask them to remove the data
- You may create an account on Geni, contact the person and ask them to invite you to their tree
If they invite you to their tree, you may then:
- Remove the data and close your account
- Remove your data, update your privacy settings and keep your account
- Update your settings, keep your account and invite others to join your tree
