Why would someone be managing over 1000 profiles?

I believe I found information on my family member. the manager of the profile has over one thousand profiles started. How is this possible. Before I noticed that they had so many profiles, I emailed him (because I need access to view) but now I am concerned that this person isn't even related to me. Thanks
