If I export my tree with a GEDCOM-file (I think this is the name), will it still remain in your system at Geni?

I have no family tree in my own computer. I have a very big tree today and I want to be sure it still is somewhere if something happens. Do I have to export a special program to my computer before I export my tree by GEDCOM-file?

I like to work with my tree in your system and want to go on doing so. I am a retired woman who is stupid when it comes to computers. I am thinking of buying a special disc to save my photos (4000-5000) and am now thinking of saving my family tree too.

If you have someone who can write in swedish I would be greatful because my english isn´t so good.

  Yes, it still remains on Geni.    No, you do not need a special program to export the Gedcom-file.   So, feel free to go ahead - it is a very good idea.

  BUT --- Using the Gedcom file, importing it to another Program, etc. -  Hopefully someone who can write in Swedish can explain about that (as well as repeat what I said above)
