In one of the profiles I manage, the person shares an email adress with another person. She now has her own email but I cannot edit the original email because it seems to be associated to 2 accounts? I have changed the email adress in the other profile but that still does not let me change the email adress in the managed profile. I can see the email in the edit profile section but there is no option to change it, only to delete it, and it won't delete.

Geni Support Team Hello Brad:
If the profile has not been claimed yet, then it will only give the option to delete the email address and then you would be able to enter the new email address. If it does not let you delete it, it would mean that the profile has already been claimed. Has the person already joined Geni on the profile you are trying to change? If so, then that person will need to change their own email address. You may refer them to our the following link:

Brad Robinson Yes we tried this but the person cannot login because the email is not associated with her account for some reason. So I can't change it and she can't change it, we're kind of stuck.

Geni Support Team Hi Brad:
If the email is not being recognized, she may have used a different email address when she first sign up. If you go to her profile view her e-mail address associated with her Geni account should show on the right side under "Contact".
If she does not have access to the email address anymore, have her send an email to subscriptions@geni.com with stating her original email address and her new email address. We will then be able to remove her email address from her profile, where she will then be able to ask a relative in her tree to re-invite her back to her tree using her current email address.
*Note: If she was the only claimed/active Geni user in that tree and there is no one who can re-invite her, she will need to start over at Geni.com using her current email address.

Toby Heilbrunn I want to change my email address. If it can't be changed, I want to cancel my account. No matter what I try, I can't seem to change it. This is a very difficult site to navigate. When you click on 'help' you get a form to charge membership. Please let me know if you can change my email address.

If you have already tried updating your email address (see http://help.geni.com/entries/432044-how-do-i-update-the-email-address-on-my-geni-account) and it is not saving then more than likely you have another Geni account with the same email address. If this is the case, you should have received an email to join your tree at the "new" email address which would start the process to merge your two duplicate Geni accounts (http://help.geni.com/entries/475237-how-can-i-merge-my-own-profiles).
