My forefathers in several generations got wrong relations with me after a merge with another tree. Instead of 21 generations between one forefather it can look like this: "Lidikin (Lyder) Svinakula Svinhufvud is your first cousin once removed's husband's second cousin 7 times removed's husband's fourth cousin's husband's 13th great grandfather. " This is like this in several generations. After this merge I was continuing to add more people without a merge in the same tree and this problem was continuing on this too. Why?

John Peter Cowley This is a problem for me as well. I have multiple relationships with other people in my tree, but where they actually ancestors, I'd like them to show as such. Is there any way to get a redefinition of the relationships so that geni reports the most signficant one?

Geni Support Team Hello Isak and Peter:
Please note that we typically display the closest relationship to you/focus person. Therefore, if the marriage relationship is closer than the blood one-we would show that one. Otherwise, you are seeing the one which was cached or calculated first.
The good news is we are working on an enhancement to that feature to enable users to view all relationships path between the focus person and relative. Also, please keep in mind that pending merges and recent merges can also prevent the closest relationship from calculating.
