I have sent a couple of emails to individuals listed as someone updating my family tree. Since my email address is not identified in the email I am wondering where to find the responses.

Messages sent through your Geni account are located in the Notifications area. Click on the red (1 or more notifications) or gray (0 notifications) box to the left of your name in the upper right corner, then click on 'Inbox Messages'.
