Is there a way to no longer be merged with others? I have documents for the correct information and it appears others do not. Or can I delete my tree and start over? That would be time consuming as I have a family forest vs a tree.

Jeff, Geni Curator No, you can't unmerge a tree. Once you're part of the world tree, you're part of it. But this is exactly the type of thing we need in a shared tree. No one wants incorrect information, so if you have documents for correct information, then by all means, let's correct it. If you need to, you can start a discussion on the profile. After a merge, you may think data was lost, but in most cases it just needs to go through conflict resolution. On the Actions menu, you'll see "Resolve Conflicts" and you can choose the "correct" data. If you have sources, this really improves the chances that the data will be maintained if bogus info is out there. Curators also have the ability to lock fields (or a entire profile) and make a profile a Master Profile when we feel we have info correct or don't want it to be incorrectly merged with a common alternative. If you want to point out the profiles you believe are in conflict, let a curator know (or the other managers) and we'll work to get it fixed. The point of the world tree is to have a single profile for each person and make it as documented and accurate as possible. If you want you're own isolated tree, then I suggest MyHeritage - their website is designed for that, where Geni is designed for the world tree and collaboration.
