Is there a way to clear the exclamation point-in-yellow triangle alert from a person's name?

I have found a few instances in my tree where I get an exclamation point on a yellow triangle which says "Which people are the same? Merging people can create duplicate entries. Drag-and-drop the duplicates onto each other" when I click on it.

However, in these instances, there are no duplicates, so I click the link to assign parents.

Using as an example the profile of my first cousin once removed, Helaine Witt, I am offered the option of choosing (1) R. Weiss & D. Weiss as her parents, or (2) David Weiss & Ruby Weiss as her parents, or (3) no change.

If I choose (1), (2) or (3) I get a message saying "Cannot set parents. Sorry, choosing those parents would split the tree"

Thus, my only option is to cancel out and do nothing. But then Helaine Witt, to use my above example, will always have an exclamation point in a triangle next to her name. How do I resolve this situation and clear the alert? Another example of where this happens is my great aunt, Charlotte Weiss.

It appears the profile you mention has two sets of parents. So they can be merged into one set of parents, or you could remove a set. Removing a set will split the tree, so if they are the same persons then you should avoid doing that. If not, then you should be able to remove them in the relationship tab when editing the profile.
