Ok, Geni thinks I'm my own aunt... and I'm a guy (!)

Don't know how it happened, but my aunt's name got changed to mine (with her maiden name added). So now I exist in my own tree twice, I am my mother's sister, and my own aunt. (Thankfully, I'm not "my own grandpa" ;-)

I cannot edit her name or delete her. I deleted most of her children, thinking that would allow me to either edit her name or delete/re-add her. But alas, no joy. There is no "x" on her box to delete her.

I *think* the problem is that, when I invited my cousin (the daughter of my eponymous aunt), I gave her some sort of Admin role. I cannot edit/delete her, either.

Help?

  It might be that her profile is claimed, meaning her e-mail was added to the profile and she accepted invitation.  In that case, she may be the only one that can edit her profile, so sending her a message would be the way to fix it.  If this is not the case, you should have the rights to edit it.  Family members should have the ability to edit names.  I think the only restriction on editing may be public / private, but even that may be open.  Unless... someone else is the manage and they've set their permissions so that the only person that can edit the profiles they manage is them-self.  This is not the default, but could be in play if the profile is not claimed.

  She finally edited it, but only by fixing her mom's name. The "ghost" me is still out there... now it thinks I'm my own uncle.

  I requested a "merge", and approved it when I got the email, but it didn't seem to take; I still see both records.

  Please advise.

  Probably easier to just delete the other profile of you and make sure you have the correct parents set.

  Jeff, that's the problem... I can't delete the other profile. There is no "edit" button on it.

  Doug, did you get this fixed.  I only see one profile for you.  If your profile was in a pending merge, you could either complete the merge or deny the merge then delete the extra.  Not sure you'll get the option to delete the profile if it is in a pending merge.
