What really happens when changing the Family Group limits?

If I change the limits which define my Family Group in my profile (http://www.geni.com/account_settings/family) what does that really do?

a) Does it change the scope of the profiles for which I get birthday & anniversary announcements?

b) Does it change the default public/private settings for profiles created after that change?

c) Does it change (limit the scope of) my ability to edit profiles?  That is, can I still edit within the Maximum Family Group?

d) Does it affect other's ability to get notices about changes/birthdays/anniversaries within my now-smaller Family Group?  That is, does someone who is within the Maximum Family Group, but now "outside" my new limits, still get those notices?

  Hi Dan:

  a)  You would no longer receive announcements from your family that is outside your chosen family group, unless you are following the profile.

  b) No, it does not change the default public/private settings. 

  c)  Yes, it changes. You would only be able to edit profiles within your chosen family group, unless you are the manager of the profile.

  d) The relatives that are now outside your chosen family group will no longer receive notices about any changes/birthdays/anniversaries for you unless they choose to follow you.

  Thank you!  This is most helpful, as it will help those who want to limit the scope of who can see/be a part of their "family group".

  Additional questions, based on these answers (particularly "c"):

  e) Will a Geni member who is within the Maximum Family Group, but outside of my personally-defined Family Group limits, be able to edit the profiles within my "smaller" family group?

  f) If the answer to "e" is "Yes, they would still be able to edit profiles within your smaller family group", then would "Blocking" them prevent that ability to edit within my "subset"?

  e) No, the Geni member within your Maximum Family Group, but outside of your personally-defined Family Group limit would not be able to edit the profiles within your "smaller" family group (unless that Geni member is the manager of any of the profiles within your "smaller" family group)
