I have recently deleted my account so my brotehr is letting me use his to ask this question. I asked him to remove a picture of me and delete my profile; which he has. When I google my name the picture is still showing in Google images. I would like this to be removed please. I have emailed geni about this and they sent me a ticket link however because I do not have an account the link does not work. The same picture is showing from two separate URLs and I can not remove the images due to geni needing the make the change. I need these photos removing please if this is at all possible so was wondering if anyone could help please

Jeff, Geni Curator Geni has no control over Google cache or their indexing schedule. This data will be refreshed (deleted) by Google as they go through their normal process of web indexing. You can try to request they remove the data.

Paul Ashley Holdsworth I requested them to remove it however they couldn't as it is a live site and said geni needed to remove it or change the settings so I could them request removal again -

Jeff, Geni Curator I don't understand what you mean by a "live site". As I understand it, the content no longer exists on Geni. Your brother removed the profile and image. There is not much else that can be done here. Next time Google crawls the site, the image will no longer be there and will be removed from Google cache. One thing to note, it is not common that Google can see the images or details of living profiles. So your brother might want to check that he hasn't made other family members information "public" - such profiles should be "private" and visible only to family members. Also, if you had claimed the profile, instead of deleting it, you would have a great deal of control on what is displayed and what is not.

Paul Ashley Holdsworth When I used Google webmaster tools to request they remove the image (this was after I had deleted the picture and the account) It was denied and said I had to contact the webmaster to remove the picture. I also do not understand what it meant by a live site and was just following Google's instructions. I then e-mailed Geni help as I could not find the webmasters details but have not heard a reply except 'your ticket is followed by a number to see the progress click the link below' but you need an account to view this and only an account with my e-mail would allow this but i deleted my account before I e-mailed them. All the pictures and profiles are set to private that I am aware of but I will double check this.
Yes the content no longer exists on Geni which is why i was unsure why it was still appearing in search results and why i couldnt remove it using webmaster tools. Thank you very much for the advice and information though I just hope that it is removed next time they crawl the site.
