I have been a member of Geni (as well as MyHeritage) for many years since almot its inception with a big tree. And ever since MyHeritage has taken over Geni, the service for the basic plan has deteriorated to such an extent that even for my own MILESTONE Birthday that took place on Sept. 9 2 days ago, not one member of my family, including myself received a notice of it. WHY haven't I received notice and why my close relatives also didn't receive!!! Excuse me! Money Hungry does not a following make. There are people especially in this economy that do not have the money to constantly pay to add personal information that many strangers use. Very disappointed and disillusioned

Bjørn P. Brox You have probably turned off your own "[x] Send birthday reminders to your family" setting in http://www.geni.com/profile/edit_basics or your family have chosen to unsubscribe from such reminders.
When it comes the basic plan service it changed a lot as part of the MyHeritage takeover, - to the better: No limit in added profiles anymore etc etc etc.

Shelley (Shulamit) Perlman-Azran Thank you for your reply. However I haven't turned off the send Birthday reminders to family and my family still gets reminders about everyone else. I even got for my grandaughter on Sept 2nd. I also still have birthday cards from last year in my messages. So what gives this year?

Bjørn P. Brox It's a pity when your family needs a written reminder to remember your birthday, isn't it?
May be some Geni staff can check details on your account to figure out why reminders was not sent out? They should be sent out both a week before and on the day itself.

Shelley (Shulamit) Perlman-Azran My family doesn't need a written reminder they already have celebrated with me. What about you? I think you very patronizing. As a person with their family tree in Geni, like everyone else, I should get the same service likewise which one is reminder of birthdays.

Bjørn P. Brox Only family get that message, so everything is OK?
You don't get a message about your own birthday, - is that the problem here?
