I already have a family tree going. I want to open another tree with the same Email ID. It is not letting me do so saying the email id is already in use & may be I forgot the password. I do not want to use separate email ids for 2 different trees from the same website. The trees need to be separate.

Bjørn P. Brox It is not possible, - it is the email that identify the tree and is the login for it.
I suggest you just get an extra email account, for example using http://gmail.com and create a new Geni tree with that.
If the reason for wanting to use the same email is that you only want to read messages from one email account you can consider setting up an automatic forwarding of incoming message to another email account - this is the way it is done with gmail: Forward mail to another account

Bjørn P. Brox BTW: If the reason for asking is that you simply want to build another tree unconnected to your own you can do as many others do: Just add the start-profile for that tree anywhere, bookmark it and cut it loose from where it was added. If not a Pro user you can ask a curator or a collaborating Pro user to cut it loose for you.

David Chambers Bjørn: I understand your replies. The first is somewhat helpful; the second, not really, because a third (better) solution would be to have someone else "own" that branch – which is not always the case.
Why doesn't Geni.com simply enable a user to establish a number of "trees"?
That would greatly facilitate research.
Right now, my wife and I are researching a Sephardic Jewish family with 500 years of documented history. (We're also posting historical findings on Wikipedia, which helps fuel new genealogical input for Geni.com). You can imagine that we have a big tree...! Separations began in the 16th Century, when one branch moved from Morocco to the Netherlands, and the spellings have change with it, everything... Your Option 2 would mean that I have to create multiple Pro accounts in order to use Geni.com fully, yet my work is all for the same family...
Please advise further.

Leonid Semenov (GENI Curator RU) Geni has the ability to specify two pairs of parents for adopted children. To do this, you do not need to have two trees
